"The Dallas Cowboys: A Storied Franchise in the National Football League"

The Dallas Cowboys are a professional American football team based in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. The Cowboys compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the league's National Football Conference (NFC) East division. The team is headquartered in Frisco, Texas, and plays its home games at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, which opened for the 2009 season. The stadium took its current name prior to the 2013 season. The Cowboys joined the NFL as an expansion team in 1960. The team's national following might best be represented by its NFL record of consecutive sell-outs. The Cowboys' streak of 190 consecutive sold-out regular and post-season games began in 2002. The franchise has made it to the Super Bowl eight times, tied with the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Denver Broncos for second most Super Bowl appearances in history, just behind the New England Patriots record eleven Super Bowl appearances. This has also corresponded to eight NFC championships, most in the NFC. The Cowboys have won five of those Super Bowl appearances, tying them with their NFC rivals, the San Francisco 49ers; both are second to Pittsburgh's and New England's record six Super Bowl championships. The Cowboys are the only NFL team to record 20 straight winning seasons (1966–85), in which they missed the playoffs only twice (1974 and 1984), an NFL record that remains unchallenged.

The Dallas Cowboys have a star-studded history, with many of the team's players being inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Some of the most notable players in Cowboys history include Roger Staubach, Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith, Michael Irvin, and Tony Dorsett. The team has also had a number of successful coaches, including Tom Landry and Jimmy Johnson.

The Dallas Cowboys are known for their loyal and passionate fan base, which is often referred to as "America's Team." The team has a large following not just in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, but throughout the United States. Cowboys fans are known for their team spirit, often sporting team jerseys and merchandise on game days.

Despite the team's success on the field, the Dallas Cowboys have had their share of controversies off the field. In the late 1990s, the team was involved in a number of high-profile legal issues, including the indictment of owner Jerry Jones on charges of conspiracy and obstruction of justice. Jones was later acquitted of all charges.

In recent years, the Dallas Cowboys have struggled to find their footing on the field. The team has not made it to the Super Bowl since 1995, and has had a number of mediocre seasons. However, the Cowboys continue to have a strong fan base and are always a formidable opponent on the field.

Overall, the Dallas Cowboys are a storied and successful franchise in the NFL. With a rich history and passionate fan base, the team will always be a force to be reckoned with in the world of professional football.
